Fourteen local nonprofits will host volunteer projects across the region on Saturday, September 12
This fall, Northwest Arkansas residents will have a new way to pitch in close to home. GoodWorks, a volunteer center connecting residents, supporting nonprofits, and building a culture of volunteerism across the region will host its first Day of Service on Saturday, Sept. 12. Fourteen nonprofit partners across Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, Bentonville, Bella Vista, and Lowell will lead projects connecting people of all ages to community needs.
Volunteers can choose from creek cleanups, gardening and outdoor projects, building maintenance, and packing donations. Most shifts run two hours, either 9 to 11 a.m. or 10 a.m. to noon. Families and first-time volunteers are welcome. Registration is open at thejonescenter.org/goodworks/service.
“We encourage everyone - families, students, groups - to get involved. Pick a project and in just a few hours’ time, you’ll see the impact. We've designed it to be an easy way to give back through a variety of activities across the region," said Coletta Patterson, planning director, GoodWorks.
Purpose Brands 414 is one of the volunteer host sites, with a project in Fayetteville. Participants will help set up their new initiative focused on men’s apparel, shoes and accessories.
“Volunteers are an essential part of the PB414 mission. When people choose to give their time, they’re investing in their community and helping create dignity, hope, and opportunity for others,” says Danna Fields, volunteer program director for Purpose Brands 414. “We’re excited to be part of GoodWorks’ first Day of Service and hope it encourages more people to discover the joy and impact of volunteering, not only with us, but with nonprofits throughout Northwest Arkansas.”
The Day of Service is a featured event of Welcoming Week NWA 2026. Participating nonprofit partners include Beaver Watershed Alliance, Boys & Girls Club of Benton County, Crystal Bridges, EverHope, Family Network, Jones Center, Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, Potter's House, Purpose Brands 414, Samaritan Community Center, Samaritan Community Center Farm, Sheep Dog Impact Assistance, Teen Action & Support Center and Treehouse Pantry.
GoodWorks is a part of the Jones Center organization and is supported by Walmart, Walton Family Foundation, and Tyson Foods, Inc.
